November 30, 2024 Saturday - My brother smoked turkeys again this year and he smoked one for me too. I shared a bunch of it with Riley and Ari but still had a lot left over. For lunch I shared a bunch of turkey breast with the pups. They seemed to like it as much as I did. With all I have left over I see a smoked turkey pot pie in my near future.
November 29, 2024 Friday - When I walked out of my room this morning this tiny guy was standing in the hallway. He didn’t hardly move and was still there when I got back from getting a bowl to scoop him up. I got dressed and grabbed him a cracker. I took him out to a wood pile and set him down. He was still there when I came back with my camera. He sat still for a little shoot. He was still there when I left.
November 28, 2024 Thursday - Today I spent Thanksgiving at Riley’s. Instead of a traditional turkey Ari found a Chinese restaurant for us to have a Christmas Story holiday dinner. The food was really good. I don’t remember ever having dumplings before. This is Zuko one of their cats. He has really blue eyes.
November 27, 2024 Wednesday - Today was another busy day trying to get stuff done before the holiday. We have a client’s website we’re trying to get launched. I was able to wrap up work just a little bit before the sun completely disappeared. It was quite cool tonight too.
November 26, 2024 Tuesday - Today was a very busy day at work. When I was finally done I was ready to relax on the couch. After our evening walk in the dark we came back and had dinner. I had some of my leftover soup. I don’t remember what we watched tonight but toward the end of the evening I needed a photo. Zak was laying next to me on the couch.
November 25, 2024 Monday - I don’t know why but To Catch a Thief popped in my head tonight and I decided to watch it. Grace Kelly has been my photo of the day a couple of times back when I was watching movies from all the decades. I’ve seen this movie a few times and this scene always makes my heart go pitter patter.
November 24, 2024 Sunday - Thursday night I went out to do some grocery shopping. I was anticipating the cooler weather coming and even though it wasn’t very cold today I made a big pot of soup. I’ve made this lots of times but this is the first time I added a bit of beef to the pot. It turned out pretty good and I have some for later in the week.
November 23, 2024 Saturday - I’m going to have dinner at my friend’s house up north tonight, so I took the pups for a walk just a little bit early. As we were walking down the drive I saw all these little red flowers growing out front. They show up a couple time a year and they always remind me of mom.
ovember 22, 2024 Friday - When I’m sitting at my desk I can see the front part of the middle pasture. Late in the afternoon I saw my nephew’s daughter out walking her lamb. I put on my shoes, grabbed my camera and went out to get a photo of him. It took a bit to get her attention, she had her AirPods in. This is Smokey.
November 21, 2024 Thursday - I think last night was the coldest it’s been so far and I still haven’t turned on the heat in the house yet. Around 11am I decided to make myself a big mug of hot cocoa. Just as much to keep my hands warm as to drink. After a quick look at my weather app. I may be making this the next few days.
November 20, 2024 Wednesday - Today I had an appointment with my rheumatologist in Dallas. I sure do miss a lot of the good restaurants in Dallas so I make sure to get something good for lunch while I’m there. A friend was going to meet me but they had a work Thanksgiving today. Roti Grill moved over one block but the food is still great.
November 19, 2024 Tuesday - While I was working earlier today Zak was back in the bedroom barking at something outside. It went on for a while. When he finally came out to the desk he had drool over his snoot. I did’t have anything to wipe his face at my desk. Later he was in what has become his go to spot on the couch. He’s still a handsome boy.
November 18, 2024 Monday - The closest store to the house is a dollar store. I had no idea they had so much stuff. Fortunately they have snacks. After our evening walk I went to the store and got some cookies and milk. It’s been a long time since I’ve had Oreos. Oreos are good but so much better dipped in milk until they’re just a bit soggy.
November 17, 2024 Sunday - Today I did something I haven’t done it probably a decade. I slept until noon. It wasn’t the best sleep, I was dreaming about work all morning. After a walk with the pups, the rest of the day was equally lazy. I did do some laundry so I wasn’t a complete slug. Biscuit spent a lot of time in her favorite spot.
November 16, 2024 Saturday - Today was a fun day. I got up and went with my nephew and his family to watch his son at his archery tournament. We all went out to lunch after. I got to have pho again! After, I went home and took a quick nap, it was an early start this morning. I took the pups out for a ride to get dinner later.
November 15, 2024 Friday - The cooler weather we’ve had the last few days have made it a little chilly in the house. Today I was tired of being cold and wanted some pho. I saw my nephew out when I was walking the dogs. He wasn’t available for lunch so I invited my sister to go get pho with me. It’s been way too long since I’ve had pho. This completely hit the spot today.
November 14, 2024 Thursday - We’ve kinda gotten into a routine now. Each evening I try to wrap up work around 5:30 so I can walk the pups before it get’s dark. We come back and relax for a bit and then have dinner a little later. After dinner I find us something to watch on TV. Biscuit is actually keeping Zak’s butt warm and he’s lying still for it.
November 13, 2024 Wednesday - Today I was able to get work done in time to grill some chicken for dinner before it was dark. I took the pups for a walk and then came back and shared some with the dogs for dinner. After unwinding on the couch for a bit I went to get my laptop. Zak was lying at the end of the couch so I got my camera too.
November 12, 2024 Tuesday - I didn’t forget my phone at home when we went for our evening walk this time. Today was another full day of work. I was hoping to grill some dinner but it was dark by the time we got back from our walk. Maybe tomorrow. It was nice to be lazy on the couch for the rest of the night.
November 11, 2024 Monday - I spent all day working on a video for a client. It turned out pretty good. We’ll see if the client thinks so too. When I ended the day we went for our evening walk. There was a beautiful sunset, but I left my phone at the house. Later in the evening I still needed a photo for today. Lazy Pancake is my victim.
November 10, 2024 Sunday - After getting home a little bit late last night, I promised the pups I’d take them out for a good breakfast. After our late morning walk, I loaded up my grill’s propane tank and the pups and we went for a Sunday drive. We stopped at Kroger for a little big of groceries and to exchange my tank. We also picked up an early lunch for all of us.
November 9, 2024 Saturday - Today was a really good day. I went to my good friend’s wedding celebration. It was good to see his family and friends I know. After the party I went to see my other good friend up north. It was good to see him and his family for the first time in a long while. He grilled streaks and corn, I made guac. We smoked cigars and drank a bit of whiskey and wine. It was a really good day.
November 8, 2024 Friday - I took a few hours off from work today to get dressed up as a nurse. I went around swapping people’s charts. Not really, I had another doctor’s visit. I think I know what I’m going to be for Halloween next year. These things are comfortable. Fortunately I didn’t have to get my blood drawn by any one who didn’t do that on a regular basis.
November 7, 2024 Thursday - I’ve had a bit of a cold since Tuesday and today was the worst I’ve felt so far. After work I walked the dogs and then came in for a quick nap. Toward the end of the evening I needed a photo for today. Zak was looking especially handsome relaxing at the other end of the couch.
November 6, 2024 Wednesday - I had a little bit of freelance work to do this evening. I needed a photo for today and I keep this on my desk. I keep the cigar bands I smoke with my friend in this old, empty bottle of Single Barrel Jack. This represents a lot of good times, good drinks, great food and good cigars.
November 5, 2024 Tuesday - Tonight instead of watch the election coverage I continued with my Pixar movies. I’ve only seen this movie once. The main girl is named Riley and it’s so much about her memories. I think it’s funny that you don’t have any control over what your kid’s remember and you never know what sticks.
November 4, 2024 Monday - I’ve not made this in a very long time. I’m afraid it showed too. This is a creamy chicken and mushroom orzo. This wasn’t my best version but it was still very good. I watched Big Night a while back and decided to start wearing an apron when I cook. I wore my new one for the first time tonight when I made this.
November 3, 2024 Sunday - I spent yesterday moving things around and making the house a little more to suitable to me since I’m the only one here. I moved my desk out to the TV room. I came across this while moving some boxes. I don’t know where this came from but it’s on my desk now. I think it’s a Pokemon.
November 2, 2024 Saturday - This morning I went out to breakfast with my nephew and his family. His wife is doing fine. They took me to one of their favorite places in Joshua. It’s only 20 minutes from the house and I think it’s the first really good restaurant I’ve found in this area. This biscuit had fried chicken, gravy, bacon, cheese and an egg. The potatoes were really good too. Their jellies were amazing!
November 1, 2024 Friday - The other day when I was leaving the dr’s office they wanted to do bloodwork. This is what happens when the receptionist does your bloodwork so you don’t have to wait an hour and a half because the lab was running behind. It didn’t hurt but it’s never looked like this before. Maybe I should have waited.
