January 31, 2013 - Thursday

Someone sent us some Tiff's Treats to our office yesterday. There are five people in our office and we had 2 1/2 dozen cookies. These are a couple of the leftovers. We still have plenty left.

January 29, 2013 - Tuesday

Spent the morning in the hospital waiting room while my mom had a routine surgery. I love hanging out with my family even during times like this. I took this just before they brought her out of recovery back to her own room. It was a dreary day, even more so through this tinted window.

January 28, 2013 - Monday

Went to meet some friends I used to work with for lunch. I got us a table out on the patio so we could enjoy the beautiful, gloomy skies. It was good to see friends I don't ever get to see, let alone spend some time with. Miss those guys.

January 27, 2013 - Sunday

Went out to pick up some dinner. Come on I can't cook everynight. Coming home I came across some strong shadows in the alley.

January 26, 2013 - Saturday

I loved Legos as a kid, but as I've gotten older I find them to be the ultimate problem solving inspiration. The way they design their blocks to achieve whatever it is they make is genius. This kinda sounds like I take this a little too seriously, but there's still a lot of fun in it too.

I stopped by the grocery store on the way home. Had a delicious steak and a cold beer for dinner. Not a bad way to end the week.

This is the view of 75 from my parking garage. It's out there somewhere. It was a very nice, cool morning. The kind that would have been perfect to just stay in bed.

January 23, 2013 - Wednesday

Leaving work for lunch this afternoon I saw this in the stairwell in the parking garage. This isn't the only interesting thing I've found in the stairwell, but it's the only thing I've photographed.

January 22, 2013 - Tuesday

Went to meet a friend for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Today I saw a guy walking into our building with two big bags from this place. This is all I thougth about all day. I brought home what was left of my slice of Linda's Fudge Cake. Between the two of us there wasn't much left to photograph.

January 21, 2013 - Monday

In addition to the music, furniture and this, I have started one other project. I've begun learning some new software and using it to redesign my personal website. I was doing this while watching one of my favorite movies, Shanghai Noon. Chon Wang (say it out loud) is a horrible cowboy name. Hahaha

Earlier in the week I was talking with my dad and he reminded me how I've always said I would like to make furniture. I decided I would start desiging a line based on the outdoor set I made this past summer to begin with. You might start seeing more pictures revolving around this in the near future.

One of my other favorite shows premiered today. It's as inappropriate as it is funny. I really love the animation look and style of this show too. Doesn't hurt that one of the voices is Judy Greer. I never watch this show with Riley around. I can't laugh as loud or as often.

January 16, 2013 - Wednesday

I spent some time this past weekend rearranging my office. Today I came home and connected everything to my laptop to start using this to record. I haven't "written" music in a very long time. I am hoping it will be another creative outlet.

January 15, 2013 - Tuesday

Normally I get up and let the dogs out and then go tell Riley to get up. This morning I let the dogs out and RIley met me in the living room with, "Snow day. Snow day!" It wasn't. She had to go to school. I did point out that she never gets out of bed before I get in the shower.

January 14, 2013 - Monday

Must be Monday. Went to pick up Riley from her mom's. More wildlife pics from the pond behind her place. I thought this guy looked pretty cool in the setting sun. My hands were freezing after taking this from the car with the window down.

January 13, 2013 - Sunday

This is a friend's dog who came to drool on my jeans while I pet him. Doesn't he have really sad eyes. Or like his owner said, "He looks like he smokes pot."

So in addition to owning a delicious taco stand in Deep Ellum I also have a luxurious pet lodge in the North Plano area. If you're in the north part of the metroplex and you've had too much to drink feel free to stop in and I'll see that they make a place for you for the night. Or call a cab.

I was walking out to my car for lunch when I saw a post on FB from a friend who said she really like the cloudy weather. I looked up when I got to my car and realized she was right. The sun began to peek out for just a bit right after I turned my camera on.

I spent part of the evening rearranging my home office. I found lots of old pics on my old Razor phone from back in '07. There was even one of this bell we used to keep on the partition where I worked before I started this photo blog. I keep it at home on my desk now.

After a nice weekend the weather turned kinda crappy. It began to rain Tuesday night at my house. This is the rain dripping off the lights hanging over my patio. My patio, however, still looks really cool with the furniture I made.

January 7, 2013 - Monday

Our office received a few gift baskets over the holidays. Some filled with really good stuff and some not so much. I found a few of these dark chocolate squares filled with caramel in one of the baskets. Thank you to whoever sent these.

January 6, 2013 - Sunday

I've posted pictures the last few days of food I've made. I didn't make this. I don't eat ice cream very often but every once in a while I get a craving for mint chocolate chip.

January 5, 2013 - Saturday

I made a pork loin and mashed potatos for Riley and her BF for dinner. I seasoned the pork loin with seasoning I bought at Ziziki's. That stuff is great on everything. I made breakfast tacos this morning with it too.

January 4, 2013 - Friday

I made Riley some homemade buttermilk pancakes because she thinks IHOP's pancakes are better than mine. Rude. These were a little more fluffy than my usually recipe, but they weren't that much better.

January 3, 2013 - Thursday

Riley was out with Rane when I got home so I ate alone. I baked one of the Smoked Turkey Pot Pies I made the other day. They keep really well in the freezer. I have a lot of blackberries so I baked a small cobbler too. Riley really missed out.

January 2, 2013 - Wednesday

My boss took us all out to lunch today. Not sure what he was trying to imply. Is he reaching out for help or does he think I need help. On the plus side they make a really great chicken melt sandwich with bacon and avocado at this place. It was almost my picture of the day.

Happy New Year!!! Slept in a little after a bit of a late night. I went to meet a friend for a late lunch. Ali Baba's was packed. And delicious. I picked up Riley from Rane's house. She has a VW Bus with chrome wheel covers. Very cool.
