August 31, 2012 - Friday
After a really long week I came home and spent the evening in front of the TV. This is Zeke. He's getting old now and this is the only part of him that works. He's mostly deaf and partially blind. He's sleeping by the couch in the light of the TV.

I picked up Riley on the way home from work. We stopped at Northpark on the way home so she could pick up her first paycheck. Woo Hoo my investments in my retirement are beginning to pay dividends. hahaha
August 29, 2012 - Wednesday
I stopped at the dry cleaners on the way home today to pick up my shirts. I don't know why there are so many pigeons on the front steps. These are just a few of them. There must have been about 20 or so.
August 28, 2012 - Tuesday
Leaving work going up 75 and it started to rain. This is all the rain I got. Barely enough to get the car wet. Traffic was barely moving so I was able to get a few pictures without running into anyone. I love the reflections in the drops on the glass.

To celebrate Riley's first day as a Junior in High School and because I like steak and grilled corn. We picked up some steaks and corn at the grocery store while getting stuff for her lunch. She wanted to get all this junk food, I said "no", but I didn't tell her I used to eat Zingers for lunch.

Went to go have dinner with a friend. We had yogurt for dessert. It was nice outside for the first time in a long time. The company was nice too.

While I was out filling my dogs bowls with water, I noticed a bunch of these growing near the fence. A few of them were tall enough to reach the evening light.

This was alomost half that cake from the other day. My friend insisted that I take a bunch home. I've shared it with another friend and Riley has eaten a bunch and she doesn't even like chocolate. I guess the rest is up to me. Challenge Accepted!

Going Away presents. Remember the happy hour the other day? These are for my friend who's going back home today. She's a big fan of these. I don't think anyone smiles quite like she does when she sees them, let alone when she eats one or two or three or......

Went to go spend some time with a friend and do some stuff around her house. One of which was putting her speaker system together for her TV. It sounded so great. This is one of her baby's. He hangs out with me on the couch when we watch movies.

Went to spend the evening with a friend for her b-day. We had wine with dinner and the candles are burning down quickly, but my favorite part of this picture is the thief in the upper left corner. He's quick and sneaky.

A really dear friend came into town for the first time in a really long time. A big group of people got together for a happy hour just to see her. Jack and I showed up.

Today was my baby's first day of work at her first job. We went out to celebrate with my other daughter after she got off. I'm so proud of her, but I don't play video games so her working at GameStop doesn't benefit me at all.

Riley talked me into bringing this one home. Yes, another one. This poor thing is just skin and bone. She's eating well and getting so friendly now. It took a couple of days for her to come out but she's so curious now. Anyone want a cat? Message me.

I went to spend the day at a friends house by the pool. I've said it before if you're gonna smoke a cigar outside in Texas in the summer you should do it in a pool. A bowl of fresh made guacamole is the price of admission, but its so worth it.

Went out with a friend to a b-day party. Had a really good time. This is the only boring picture I took all night. It ended with me turning down the wrong side of the street leaving the neighborhood. In my defence it was dark and I did turn around after only fifty yards or so.

I'm not too busy at work today. I went to have dinner and drinks with a couple of friends the other night and one of my friends brought this back from her trip to China for me. I don't know why I get so much panda stuff from my friends. hahahaha Some of you really know why.

Went to go meet a high school friend for drinks after work. We went to get a burger after. There was a leg lamp on the bar. Now how could there be that lamp and me not have it in my picture of the day?

Went to lunch with a friend today at Two Sisters. I really liked the colors of the window sill next to our table. The light was cool too. They have some great sandwiches and all kinds of salads. Oh and lots of sodas.

I got up early to ride my bike before work. So by the time I got to work I was starving. I stopped at my taco stand for a breakfast taco. Okay, who am I kidding, I had two.

Went out to my brother's for a going away party for my niece who's going to college in Kansas. This is one of their dogs. He's a super small Chihuahua. I call him Killer, but I think his real name is Duke or something.

Spent another day mostly on the couch. I did some house work and laundry too, but spent some quality time on my couch. Zeke decided this weekend was his turn to be on the couch with me. I'm thinking my next dogs shouldn't be black. They don't photograph well in low light.

Okay, so I know I've started off this month commenting/complaining about the heat. Yes, this is Texas and yes, its Summer so this shouldn't be news to me or anyone else from Texas. Which brings me to something to be thankful for. Thank God for the wonderful people down in Shiner, Texas.

This bush is in a neighbor's yard around the corner from my house. How great are the colors in this thing? It looks like a tropical frozen drink. Or that's just what pops in my head when its 106º outside.

In spite of the heat I walked over to the post office to mail a b-day gift to a baby girl. I saw this poor guy lying on the concrete probably thinking his owner, whose on the phone, is a complete jackass for bringing him out here.
