July 31, 2015 - Friday
This was a very long week. Client's had a bunch of big deadlines this week a few of them got pushed back for some really urgent deadlines, but who am I kidding, I push a mouse around all day. It might get busy and hectic, but it's not like I do hard, physical labor.
July 30 2015 - Thursday
I have a friend who's go to drink is a Vodka Soda with a spash of cranberry and extra limes. She also prefers Tito's. We have all this in the fridge at work so I sent her a photo telling her she should come visit me at work before it's all gone. And yes, that's a bottle of Jack over there.
July 29, 2015 - Wednesday
I don't remember where Riley and Alexe were this evening but since I didn't have to make dinner for everyone, I made these for myself. Riley thinks IHOP's are better and Alexe doesn't care for pancakes anyway. I don't care what they say, they were missing out.
July 28, 2015 - Tuesday
I went to Target for something that I don't remember now. While I was walking through I saw these for $1. Alexe likes them so I bought her a box. Of course I like them too. I bought Riley some pudding cups so she wouldn't think I was playing favorites.
July 27, 2015 - Monday
I haven't been cooking much at home and with my visitors eating out is getting expensive. I did a little grocery shopping today and made this. It was a quick, simple version but turned out really good. Fortunately there's another in the freezer for later in the week or next.
July 26, 2015 - Sunday
So I met my friend and his little girl for lunch and then went next door to get some stuff for his trees that are "sick". His little girl and I walked around looking at all the pretty flowers. Man was it hot, but we had a lot of fun avoiding all the puddles from the people watering the plants.
July 25, 2015 - Saturday
I know a couple that I've been friends with for a very long time. I don't get to see them as often as I'd like and I thinks its so sweet that their little girl thinks of me "out of the blue" from time to time. To my mind I don't see her often enough to make that much of an impression on a 3 year old, but I guess so. How sweet.
July 24, 2015 - Friday
One of the guys at work has a wonderful wife. Well I guess they all do, but this one in particular is quite the exceptional cook. She made fresh peach cobbler from scratch and was kind enough to send me a bit. This was so delicious. We were discussing cooking the other day, she said she wished she had more time to cook. Me too.
July 23, 2015 - Thursday
Oddly I went to Ziziki's with a friend after work and didn't think to take a picture of it or anything else today. I think this is the 5th day I've missed this year.
July 22, 2015 - Wednesday
There's a great Italian place out by my parent's that burned down a while back. They had their grand opening Monday and the girls and I drove out to eat there. We pulled into the parking lot and were told they have been so busy the last few days they weren't serving any more customers tonight. We stopped to see mom, dad & Barkley.
July 21, 2015 - Tuesday
I saw a photo on FB one of my friend's posted with some tacos like these. I showed it to Riley and that's how we ended up having this for dinner tonight. This place didn't have the little sliced radishes. I like those for a bit of extra crunchiness. These come from a shady gas station but they are so good.
July 20, 2015 - Monday
My baby girl looks like a sweet little angel when she's asleep. For the most part she acts like an angel when she's awake too.
July 19, 2015 - Sunday
I'm going to have to stop going over to work on my friend's house or I'm going to get fat....er. This apple pie was almost gone before the day was over and it didn't come out of the oven until after dinner. I'm writing this Monday and the pie is gone. :-(

We all slept really late today. It was so nice. I finally got Riley to make me poached eggs and toast for "breakfast." Honestly, it was only breakfast in that it was the first meal of the day.

This is Gizmo. What a perfect name for this little guy. I saw his mom walking him outside the office this morning. I thought I'd tell her to avoid security. I used to bring Grace to work until they made me take her home. I think she could maybe hide this little guy in a bag.

Today was full of curve balls starting from the moment I started my email. It was hard to get anything done with all the interruptions. One of the girls brought back some treats from the photo shoot. It was just that little bit of sugar to help me get through the day.

My cousin's wife told me she wanted to try the Greek restaurant that I'm always posting pictures of. There aren't any good Greek places in the Caymans. We decided to meet for brunch. This was just outside the door. They loved Ziziki's as much as I do.

I haven't cooked a whole lot since the girls have been back so today for dinner I made some spaghetti and meat sauce. I picked up some olive oil and rosemary bread to go along with it. I haven't made this in a while but it turned out pretty good.

Alexe and I went to Whataburger for dinner while Riley was at work. We walked out and saw this truck with the windows down. At first I thought that was a bad idea, but then I saw the security system. No one is coming close to this truck without risking their life.
July 9, 2015 - Thursday
When I got home from work Alexe and Riley were working on her SUV. They said they were going to start a shop. I don't remember what they changed but a guy probably wouldn't be able to do it without taking the engine apart. With their small hands they were able to get it done in a short time.
July 8, 2015 - Wednesday
My cousin and his family are back in Texas from Cayman. They would do Wings Wednesdays there and decided to keep up the tradition. A bunch of us cousins surprised them and crashed dinner. I haven't laughed that hard and that much in a long time. It was great time.

Didn't we do this last year too? She wanted a few little ones on her hand for her birthday. Apparently getting a tattoo on your knuckle hurts. Happy birthday, Sweetheart.

My brother's ribs and brisket. Check. Lot's of family. Check. Lot's of fireworks. Check. Lot's of laughs. Check. Small fire in a bale of my brother's hay. Check. We had a really great 4th of July.

I went over to a friend's house to help do some work on her place. I had to go out to my parent's place first to get some of my tools. We had some errands to run and another friend's house to go to for a bit. By the time we got back to her place we ended up not doing anything except making this. She did all the work, I just pitted some cherries. It was delicious.
June 2, 2015 - Thursday
I went to meet a friend for dinner. She's been having to do the work of two people at work so it was necessary to have a cold beverage with dinner. Fortunately her coworker is coming back soon.
July 1, 2015 - Wednesday
I believe these are Venus and Jupiter. I was reading the other day that they were supposed to align for the first time in 2000 years and that it's possible that alignment was the Star of Bethlehem the Magi followed. If they're this bright in the middle of the city imagine how bright they would have appeared then.
