November 30, 2023 - Thursday - Tonight it was quite foggy when we left for our last walk. I got this photo across the street from our driveway. I got a few other photos farther down the road but this one is the winner for photo of the day. I like the bit of a glow from the lights in town.
November 29, 2023 - Wednesday - This evening dad and I were invited over to my brother’s for dinner. This is where we went for Thanksgiving. After dinner they mentioned they had lots of pie leftovers. I didn’t get any pumpkin pie last week so I was excited to have a second chance. There may or may not be the smallest of slices of apple pie on the other side of this dish.
November 28, 2023 - Tuesday - This evening we went out to dinner with my brother, his wife and their daughter and her family. We went to the Italian restaurant near us. It’s not my favorite but the company was good. They do have lot of desserts to choose from. This Italian Lemon Cake was a recommendation from the girl behind the counter. It was a really good recommendation.
November 27, 2023 - Monday - Dad and I went to lunch with my nephew and his wife today. We went back to Ole South again. We had the same waitress, but this time with a twist. Most of our meals were brought out by this Roomba-esque delivery thing. It also was playing Christmas music really loud. It reminded me of Pauly’s robot from Rocky IV mixed with Rosie from The Jetsons.
November 26, 2023 - Sunday - Late in the evening on an almost full moon we went for our last walk of the day. I took this coming back down our driveway. I love how you can still see a few of the brighter stars here and there in the sky. I wish that electric pole and lines weren’t there but our internet come from that post so I guess it’s necessary
November 25, 2023 - Saturday - Took the dogs for a their morning walk today. It was cool but sunny. There are more and more leaves on the road now. When we got to the end of the road I noticed a bunch of yellow leaves. I looked up and saw all these golden leaves against the bright blue sky.
November 24, 2023 - Friday - Late in the day and I hadn’t taken a photo yet. Dad and I went to my cousin’s house to see a few of my cousins and a couple of my aunts. It was a good time with some good snacks. We stayed out past dad’s bedtime. When we got home he went to bed and I stayed up a bit longer. Zak found a cozy spot on a blanket and went to sleep too.
November 23, 2023 - Thursday - I look forward to Thanksgiving every year. Mostly just for a plate of turkey and dressing. We had lots of food and lots of desserts. It was a good time. At the end of the afternoon we all watched the end of the Cowboy game. That just made the day better. This is Dozer. He’s my photo of the day back in 2012 when he was just a puppy. He’s quite gray now.
November 22, 2023 - Wednesday - Today was a slow day. Thankful that our office is closed for the holidays beginning today. I was sitting at my desk wondering what I was going to take a photo of today. I slid out one of the stacks from my rock collection and decided this was it. The top one is from Zion. The next two are from beaches in California.
November 21, 2023 - Tuesday - Today was a really great evening. My God Daughter and her girls came into town. A big group of their family got together at their favorite pizza place and I got invited too. It was so good to get to see them and the whole family again. The Mama’s we met at is way better than the one in Burleson.
November 20, 2023 - Monday - I bought this watch just because I was done with my old one’s battery life. Someone told me I was lucky because I have Snoopy on the Series 9. It has a bunch of really cool animations that show up whenever you raise your watch. A lot of them are relative to the position of the watch hands. I don’t think I’ve seen the same one twice yet.
November 19, 2023 - Sunday - I ordered a docking station monitor stand the other day. I was really over unplugging everything when I would take my laptop away from my desk and then having to plug it all back in when I was back. This is so much more convenient now. I took time this evening to rearrange all the stuff on my desk. These are all the dimes I’ve come across since mom passed.
November 18, 2023 - Saturday - My old Apple Watch would barely stay charged for half the day. I tried charging it when I was at my desk but then I just would forget to put it back on. I finally just decided to trade it in for a new one. It arrived earlier this month. I really like the double tap feature. I don’t use it much but it’s pretty convenient when I do.
November 17, 2023 - Friday - There was a car coming down the road when we got to the end of our drive on our evening walk. I pulled out my phone and was able to get this before it got too much closer. Surprisingly all the dogs sat still while I was able to get this photo. It reminded me of something from the X-Files.
November 16, 2023 - Thursday - Today our company had our Thanksgiving lunch together. It was great to finally meet some of our newest peeps in person. It was also the first time I’ve left dad at home on his own. Some of my siblings called and checked in on him while I was out. I was driving with the windows down for a bit and when I got to the restaurant I noticed this bit of Zak on the dash.
November 15, 2023 - Wednesday - Dad and I got out today to run some errands. One of my sisters came with us. We decided to try the Ole South Pancake House here in Burleson. There’s only a few restaurants that I like here in Burleson but I’ve just added another. Their pancakes really have a cake-y quality to them. Good stuff!
November 14, 2023 - Tuesday - I’d like to ask for a moment of silence as I mourn the passing my last Dark Chocolate Cherry Walnut cookie from Sparkle All Over. I am quite proud that I shared a few of these and the dozen still lasted almost three weeks. She wraps them individually so this last one was just as good as the first. Life is a little less sweet now.
November 13, 2023 - Monday - Zak is doing much better going for walks when it’s dark. This evening we got to the end of our road when I looked up over the house on the corner. I thought the clouds looked cool. The photo my phone ended up taking really looked quite cooler than it really did. It was just a matter of getting the girls to stand still while the phone got the shot.
November 12, 2023 - Sunday - I ordered a docking station for my desk to help minimize the wires and hassle when I’m not using my laptop at my desk. Doing so, I had to clean and rearrange all the stuff on my desk, including my rock collection. Also my external hard drive with all my old videos crashed. I need to look into finding a way to recover the contents of that drive.
November 11, 2023 - Saturday - If daylight savings time had happened before Halloween maybe this would have been my photo of the day for Halloween. Since the time change it’s quite dark by the time we go for our last walk. I don’t think the moon’s been out either. When it’s cloudy like tonight it reflects the lights from town. It looked kind of spooky this evening.
November 10, 2023 - Friday - I love this cooler weather. I have my favorite blanket covered by two other blankets that makes the bed feel all fluffy. Zak sleeps in the bed more often too. This morning I woke up a little early so Zak came to get his chest scratched for a while. I like starting my day off like this. Happy Friday!
November 9, 2023 - Thursday - Today I had another appointment with my rheumatologist in Dallas. I had to stick around and get an x-day so while I was in town I got met Riley for lunch at my favorite pho place. Boy do I miss their pho. I miss Riley too, I suppose. It was pretty drizzly all day, but I was able to get this photo without getting too wet.
November 8, 2023 - Wednesday - My sister left really early this morning. I’m so glad I didn’t have to take her to the airport. I had a lot of work to do today, but I was taking a delivery to my sister’s place this afternoon and saw this growing out back. Big shout out to my little sister for all she did while she was in town. Give me a chance to catch up with a bunch of my friends.
November 7, 2023 - Tuesday - My sister leaves tomorrow. I took her, dad and my other sister out for lunch today because I had one last dinner with friends this evening. Our trio was able to meet at our usual Italian place for dinner. It’s been forever since we all got together. We all shared this for dessert. It was good to see them. There’s always lots of laughs when we meet.
November 6, 2023 - Monday - My sister is a good cook. She does put a lot more stuff in her avocado toast than I do. I’m not a fan of spinach in my eggs, but I’m not going to complain when I don’t have to make them. It’s been so good having her here to help out with dad these last few days. I’m going to miss her cooking when she leaves. I had lunch with another friend today.
November 5, 2023 - Sunday - Today was another full day. I went over to my brother’s house for a bit this morning. He had lots of watermelons. I met one of my best friends from high school for lunch here in town. I found a good restaurant here in Burleson. We went out for a drink and a cigar after. Later Riley came into town and we all went out to dinner. Dad’s been doing so good these last few days.
November 4, 2023 - Saturday - Today I was gone almost all day. I met a friend for lunch at a really good brunch place. We went to go look at cars after. Later in the day I went to my good friend’s house for picanha, drinks and cigars. It was so good to just hang out and see him and all his family. I wish it wasn’t such a long drive back to the house. Today was a good day!
November 3, 2023 - Friday - My little sister is in town from NYC for a few days. I’ve made lots of plans to see friends I’ve not seen in over a month since Dad got sick. This evening I was able to just run to the grocery store after work. My sister made a list for me of things she needs for what she’s making while she’s here. It got this on the way home.
November 2, 2023 - Thursday - Today I had to get out of the house for work. I got to meet my boss for lunch and then we went to a shoot with our yoga client. It was nice to finally get out to see someone other than family. Even if it was in a hot yoga studio. Towards the end of the shoot my camera kept turning off because it was overheating. I stopped by a carwash on the way home.
November 1, 2023 - Wednesday - Today Dad had another appointment this morning. We had a quick breakfast and then got going. He’s had a good appetite the last couple of days. We picked up lunch on the way home. As I was getting out of the car when we got home I saw this little guy on the edge of our driveway.
