March 31, 2024 - Sunday - Easter Sunday! We got invited over to my brother’s house for dinner. It was nice hanging out with the family again. This was sitting on the table. It’s someone’s water bottle. I thought it was cool colors and great texture on a bright background. I didn’t take a photo of anything else more interesting today.

March 30, 2024 - Saturday - The other day when I was thinking about peanut butter and syrup sandwiches I was also thinking about this, Pasta Arrabiata. Actually this is what I remembered it being. Either way this was pretty good but not as spicy as I was hoping for. I made plenty of this so we’ll have some for next week.

March 29, 2024 - Friday - I bought my first SSD a long while back. Maybe a year ago. I have an external old school hard drive backing up my laptop and the older drive, but it’s been on my mind lately that I need to have this backed more directly. I ordered this new blue one yesterday. I found some cloning software that’s quick and easy.

March 28, 2024 - Thursday - Today was a clean out the fridge of leftovers night for dinner. I don’t remember what I heated up for dad but I have been craving one of these for a long while. I even bought a loaf of Mrs. Bairds bread the other day just for this. In case you don’t know this is a peanut butter and syrup sandwich. It’s a gem from my childhood.

March 27, 2024 - Wednesday - Today is such a great day! My cookie-making friend got the itch to bake again and I’m one of the lucky recipients. She sent me some Lemon, Lime and Orange cookies. I shared with the family just to be nice and then came home and selected a Lime cookie for myself. You can see the lime zest bits. This is a bit like a subtle Key-Lime pie-ish cookie. So delicious!

March 26, 2024 - Tuesday - I don’t remember much from today except that our Home Health Nurse, Eva had the day off. I hung out with Dad all day on the couch working on my laptop. I went to my room for something and Zak was doing what he usually does, sleeping in my bed. When he looked up I thought, “I haven’t had a photo of him in a while.”

March 25, 2024 - Monday - Today I had to go to the VA here in Ft. Worth to pick up one of Dad’s meds that he was out of. There’s a little store there where I went in to get a snack. I remember in high school there was the line to get the regular lunch and at the back of the cafeteria there was the line for junk food. I used to get these all the time. They’re not as good as I remember.

March 24, 2024 - Sunday - Today Dad got up and got dressed like we had some place to go. I got up and put on sweatpants. I wasn’t thinking of going anywhere. I made him some coffee and made us some oatmeal for breakfast. We did end up inviting a bunch of the family and going out to dinner.

March 23, 2024 - Saturday - Today I got out to see a friend I’ve not seen in a long while. This is one of her pups, Winston. I’m not a huge fan of small dogs but he’s such a cool little guy. Plus look at that face! He’s been my photo of day before. It was good to get out and share a meal and Attitude Adjustment too.

March 22, 2024 - Friday - Today I took Dad’s watch get “fixed”. He’s had an access code on his watch for all the years he’s had this, but now he doesn’t remember to put it in and somehow got locked out of his watch. I went to T-Mobile to get it unlocked and paired with his new phone. It took longer than I hoped since both needed to have the OS updated.

March 21, 2024 - Thursday - Dad has been making great improvements over the last few weeks. For a long while I’ve been helping him less and less. Tonight he went to bed and I stayed up for a bit longer watching TV and doing a bit of work. Pancake and Biscuit kept me company for a while.

March 20, 2024 - Wednesday - Today I got out at lunch to take care of a few other necessary errands. One was getting the registration for my car. The office here to do that is small and mostly empty so it was quick and easy. As I was walking in I saw a sign for passports. I stopped by on the way out to get my photos taken and get the form to renew my passport. I need a good trip somewhere soon.

March 19, 2024 - Tuesday - Today I got out for lunch and to get some groceries. Having help at the house with Dad has freed up a lot of mental capacity. I can start thinking about stuff that needs to get done around here rather than just work and what needs to get done next. I’m actually starting to have a bit of a routine as well. Regular shopping trips and dog walks are just part of it.

March 18, 2024 - Monday - Today was a pretty busy day with work. The Home Health Nurse that comes to help with Dad has been nothing short of amazing. She’s made such a huge improvement for both Dad and I. She leaves around 4p so I’ll unplug my laptop and come out to the couch to hang out with Dad. The dogs move from one bed to another.

March 17, 2024 - Sunday - Almost daily Dad comes up with a great idea of something good, but not healthy to eat. Today his idea was pizza! The Italian place near us has decent pizza as long as you don’t get too many vegetables on it. I think they freeze them and you end up with wet mushy pizza. Pepperoni, olives and banana peppers is pretty good.

March 16, 2024 - Saturday - Today I got to see a friend that I’ve not seen in a really long while. She has a new puppy. This is Cooper. He’s a big poodle and incredibly friendly. She still has Willie, who’s been my photo of the day before too. He’s getting older and didn’t recognize me for a bit. But it didn’t take long before he was in my lap relaxing.

March 15, 2024 - Friday - I’ve notice over the last few months that lots of Jeeps have little animals on the dash. Some have just a few and others have a dashful like this one. This is the first time I’ve been up close to one and noticed they’re all ducks. Does anyone know what up with Jeeps and ducks?

March 14, 2024 - Thursday - Today I’m 20,000 days old! I did a bunch of work today and when I was done Dad decided he wanted pizza for dinner. We went to the local Italian place for pizza. His appetite is definitely back. His memory is pretty iffy. He’ll have a cheat meal and then forget he had it and want another. Sometimes the same day.

March 13, 2024 - Wednesday - The middle pasture between our place and my brother has grown quite a bit in the last several days. My brother let his cows in to graze. The dogs get all excited when they see them, especially Pancake. You’d think she’d go chase them if I let her off her leash. “And though she be but little, she is fierce.”

March 12, 2024 - Tuesday - For Employee Appreciation Day my boss sent us each a gift box that let us choose an assortment of sweets. Like I need a bunch of candies. One of my choices was some caramels. They even had the large Lemonheads as one of the choices. I got some Peanut m&ms and jellybeans too.

March 11, 2024 - Monday - This is one of our neighbors from a couple doors down. This one and another just like him wander the area in the morning and evening. They were in the yard when we got back from our evening walk. I put the dogs in the house and then went over to try to say hello. This one stayed longer than the other, but not close enough to be pet.

March 10, 2024 - Sunday - Dad slept in a bit today, but when he got up he got himself dressed and ready to go somewhere. We decided to go out and get a late breakfast. After we came back and relaxed on the couch for a bit. Biscuit and Pancake have decided recently they want to be on the couch with us more often.

March 9, 2024 - Saturday - Today I got out to see some friends again. I’ve not seen my friend in a very long time. It was her idea to get pho and I couldn’t agree more. Some family helped cover me this evening so I got to get out for dinner with another friend and his family. It was good to get out again.

March 8, 2024 - Friday - One week after her surgery and she’s back to her normal self. She’s still has to restrict her playing, running and jumping until we get her stitches out next week. She’s pretty good at lying in her various beds and sleeping all day.

March 7, 2024 - Thursday - After work I’ll usually come out and hang out with Dad on the couch the girls. Today Biscuit decided she was going to sit in my lap for a long while. I got this photo of her while she was being sweet. It’s a shame she’s not this sweet when she’s get her nails done. Maybe then it would happen more often.

March 6, 2024 - Wednesday - They started building my nephews house next door yesterday. They start really early in the morning too. My nephew and his wife came over to take Dad to see the progress. I went over with them. This is the most exercise Dad has done in a long while. It was good to get out of the house for a little while this afternoon.

March 5, 2024 - Tuesday - Since Pancake had her surgery I’ve been taking the dogs for short walks around the yard instead of our usual walks down the road. We have a bunch of dandelions all over. I got this photo this morning when I got out with the pups. Pancake and Biscuit made this hard to get with their pulling.

March 4, 2024 - Monday - The home health nurse didn’t come in today so I spent the day working and hanging out with Dad. Later in the day we went out to sit on the front porch to enjoy this warmer weather. My brother cut the front yard over the last few days so we had lots of robins out front this afternoon.

March 3, 2024 - Sunday - I don’t remember what I was doing today, but I was at my desk for a while and heard Zak snoring behind me. I quietly turned around and got this photo of him doing what he does best. I heard a happy dog sleeps as much as 16 hours a day. I’m guessing he’s fairly content.

March 2, 2024 - Saturday - The new Home Health Nurse has been nothing short of amazing. Not only has she been great during the week she’s agreed to do an occasional Saturday. Today was one of those occasions. I took the opportunity to go meet Riley and Rane for lunch. We started with some mimosas! It was great to get out and see them together for the first time in a very long while.

March 1, 2024 - Friday - Today I got up really early to take Pancake to the vet for her surgery. The vet reassured me this is a really common procedure but as I was getting closer to leaving her the more anxious and worried I got. She still reminds me of Vegas quite a bit. On a lighter note, here are some names overheard at the vet; Roxy, Spot, Clark. Mr Spock, Dime Bag Daryl.
