July 31, 2012 - Tuesday
My niece is leaving for college in a couple of weeks so she's making the rounds, spending time with family before she goes. We went out to eat. For the record I didn't eat all my tots. At least I didn't eat them all, right?
July 30, 2012 - Monday
Downloaded the new OS for my laptop and now I can display my screen on my tv. I haven't really found a use for this other than interupting Riley in the middle of the most dramatics scenes of Gray's Anatomy. That alone is worth the price of the upgrade.
July 29, 2012 - Sunday
Spent most of the day on the couch watching the Olympics and napping. Vegas decided to join me for a while. She's such a sweetheart. Unless you're Zeke or Shadow and you come near her bowl while she's eating. Then she's a complete BIOTCH.

Went to go hang out with a friend to cook and watch some movies. I saw this on the way. I wish my windshield was cleaner, but I was thinking what does this girl tow or haul to have a lifted dually. Yes it was a woman driving.

Went to my nephew's place to celebrate his daughter being born. The guys all went outside and smoked cigars. I know the tradition of passing out cigars when you have a baby, but why? Whatever the reason, I enjoyed the company and the cigar.

(PSA - 5 months until Christmas. Get your shopping done early.) I met a friend for "drinks" after work. Really there were only two of us here. Good thing we weren't hungry, huh?

Let me start by saying I DID NOT DO THIS! I was in Target looking for something and this is in the farthest corner of the store. I DID THINK IT WAS FUNNY, though.

Normally I'm not too particular about labels or brand names. In many cases one thing is just as good as the next. But there are some things this does not apply. This label is one of them.

We went out to the country to visit my brother and my parents. Riley raided the freezer and opened this. She doesn't like grape and brought it to me to eat. I had to take a picture to show her why everyone was laughing. They match.

Went to visit a friend and her family for a late lunch. Among the many beautiful things she has growing in her backyard this is one. She said they attract hummingbirds, when its not so hot that they burst into flames.

This doesn't really count as a photograph at all but WTH. Literally. It was hot today. Glad I got to spend it indoors with a friend watching a movie.

So this week has kinda sucked. My arthritis flared up this past Sunday and made this week a little difficult. To celebrate being able to walk almost pain free I stopped and picked up these. I also got some corn on the cob to grill. Great dinner.

Seems like forever since I cooked. Made some baked ziti for dinner tonight. (Not completely from scratch) It turned out really good.

My little one colored her hair again. Purple with bits of dark blue. This is her just out of the shower. I think this might be one of my favorite versions.

Had lunch with a friend at the new Mi Cocina in Lakewood. They're not officially open so we ate for free except gratuity and drinks. I felt compelled to pay for something so I ordered a mojito. Ended up married when it was all said and done. Weird huh?

The Chick-fil-a cow is doing some side work. This was driving near my house. I don't know what this is for, but how could I not take a picture of a dairy cow with glowing yellow eyes. I'm sure I looked crazy at the stop light taking this one, but no one was looking at me.

Went to a wedding with a friend and some of her family. They were saying that if it rains on your wedding day it's good luck. I've never heard that. Anyway there was more crazy weather this month. My favorite part of any wedding is watching people dance at the reception.

Went to spend the evening with a friend who wasn't feeling well. I stopped by the store on the way and saw this little one at the coffee shop. I'm guessing she's a girl.

Happy hour with lots of old work friends that have become just friends. It's funny how the conversations used to be about music, movies, misc. cool stuff. Now it's about kids and babies and stuff like that.

Driving on the George Bush back to my side of town. We've had some crazy weather this year for July. Lots of rain. I wish this shot was better, but I was doing 70 down the highway.

Went to go see my nephew and his wife after work. Look what they made. She's pretty cute. I hope she brings them all the happiness my girl has brought to me.

So we bought really big marshmellows for Riley's party and we forgot to put them out. Which is probably just as well. I don't think I would have liked washing these off my patio. They're good but one is all you really need.

Coming back from my sister's house this evening. Why is this tunnel lit like broad daylight at night? And why all the lights on the walls that aren't even on? Of course that would just be even brighter.

How cute are these guys? My niece stopped by the house and was heading to the Plano Animal Shelter where she volunteers. I gave her and a bunch of my newspapers a ride. If you're looking for a dog, please adopt. There are so many great animals just waiting for a home.

So I finally was able to track down some fluorescent paint for Riley's party. And guess what? It was just around the corner from Matitios. For those of you who know, yes this is the Chicken and Cheese wrapped in Bacon. So on another note, I've been trying to eat healthier.....

This is one of the kids at my brother's 4th of July bbq. She was so cute. She kinda looked like Boo from Monsters Inc. She had a really long sparkler that was almost as tall as she was.

After work I went to pick up Riley from her mom's. We went to run some errands, picking up stuff for her party. We came across this while we were out. I've seen it before, but was able to get a picture this time of the Evil Koala from the Dallas Zoo with the Glowing Red Eyes.

I worked my butt off yesterday making this. I didn't wake up until 11am. The plan today was to have a relaxing day picking out a palm and potting it. I went to Home Depot and spent most of the time avoiding the sprinklers. I got really wet anyways.
