June 30, 2012 - Saturday
Back to work means back to Home Depot. I went to pick up some items for the back patio. I'm not ready for the palm yet, but I looked around and found this guy hanging out. What an ugly bug.

After my early ride yesterday and all the work I got done in the afternoon, I took the evening off and spent some time with a friend I hadn't seen in a long while. A light dinner, good dessert and a movie and really great company.

I went for a ride early this morning. Listening to The March of the Pinguins soundtrack. It sounded right in the early hours. I took a picture during my ride because those of you who really know me are thinking I took this picture from my car. hahahaha.

I'm looking for a palm to put in this pot for the corner of my patio. I have done a bunch of work in the backyard for Riley's b-day party. I still have quite a bit to do.

I was working in my backyard stringing up lights and this guy flew by. I was hoping he would land but he kept going. A little later he came back and landed on the fence long enough for me to get a picture.
June 24, 2012 - Sunday
Went out to my brother's house and loaded up all my furniture on my dad's trailer to bring home. Set up my furniture and put together some of the shelves for my garage wall. Enjoyed a cigar and a glass of Jack Daniel's Honey on ice after. I earned this one today.

I don't usually post pictures of people, but I don't usually go out two stepping in Country & Western bars either. This is my dancing partner and I out celebrating one of her friend's birthday.

In anticipation of the patio furniture I made at my brother's being delivered this weekend I went to City Cigars to pick up a few of these to enjoy when I get my couches and table all set.

I went to ride my bike this evening. As I turned the corner on my last turn on my way home I looked up and saw the setting sun shining on the lower branches of this tree. I turned my bike around and took this picture.

I went out for drinks with a friend from high school that I haven't seen in years. It was good to see him. Even better to see him and have a few drinks too.

Went to my sister's house for Father's day even though my daughter is in Florida. I came home and did some work in my yard to prepare for the projects I'm doing. I cut down a bush in the back and the inside of it was this very bright yellow. Weird huh?

I went out to my brother's house again to work on some more projects for my backyard. He has cows. Moooo.

There are so many crape myrtles in my neighborhood. I took one the other day, but this white one was so bright in the evening sun. Especially against the dark leaves and blue sky.

I see this every time I go for a ride on my bike. There's a garden center here and they have all kinds of things growing out back. I don't know what this is but it's about the size of a baseball.

The weather began to turn bad on the way home. I was pretty lucky, just some rain. I have some friends who didn't get off so lucky.

These line the alley behine my neighbors house. I stopped to take this on the way to my garage. There are so many big pillowy blooms.

I went out for my b-day dinner with Riley, Rane a friend and her baby. She bought me chocolate cake. Turning 43 wasn't too bad. I am a very fortunate guy.

I drove out to my parents' and brother's house. It's easier to get the work done in my brother's incredibly awesome garage/ workshop. This is one of the two couches I built. One of the benches is in the background. We didn't finish the table until after dark.

Slept pretty late today. Last night was a long one. I spent part of the day napping on the couch and working on some designs for the patio funiture I'm building tomorrow. It was such a bright sunny day.

I found myself in a florist for the first time in a long time buying b-day flowers for a friend. These are making a face.

I was so starving this morning. So I decided to support the local economy in our Deep Ellum neighborhood. The breakfast tacos from "my" taco stand are so good.

I've been doing some more freelance work for the last few days. Staying up late getting these done for the last several nights is making working during the day kind of inconvenient.

This is Shadow with his new doo. Riley died his hair too. Okay, actually this is RIley's bothering Shadow again. He puts up with so much. But he wouldn't stand still for a picture.

I took Riley to her mom's to pick up her stuff for the week with me and these guys were back out. These are the same ones from the picture on May 7th. They're getting so big. Almost big enough to eat. Hahaha. Just kidding.

Went to have lunch with a friend downtown. ComicCon is back again. This was one of the best reasons to work downtown. Once a year the streets are full of people all dressed in all kinds of costumes. I don't think I've seen a blue girl since Avatar.
